Welcome to
Model Roundup On-Line!
Model Car News Archives-please note this is dated information and availibility & pricing have changed, sometimes dramatically

From July 15, 2000: Hi gang, the AMT 70 1/2 Baldwin Motion Camaros are in stock now. Please order AMT 30085 $7.50. For more links to new AMT kits visit AMT 2000. Better grab these now. The last issue of the 1970 split-bumper Camaro had been commanding about $60.00 prior to the reissue. Only other new kit this week is Revell's slick new 1978 El Camino. This beauty can be built factory stock, sleek custom, or as a full-blown lowrider with special suspension, wheels, and all the cool hydrolic stuff. See the 78 El Camino at Revell 2000.

From June 25th, 2000: Revell Monogram has introduced a wave of all new kits including the much anticipated 1970 Ford Torino (Pro-modeler RMX-5958 $14.90) and Mr Norm's 1968 Dodge Dart (RMX-7667 $7.50) with the 'infamous' 440 motor. Even Chrysler engineering could not figure out how to squeeze the big 440 motor into the understated Dart. This did not stop Mr. Norm's Grand Spaulding Dodge team from completing the task even if it meant putting the battery in the trunk!

We will mention in passing the first ever 1970 Roadrunner and Lil' John Buttera's 1926 Ford Sedan Delivery with a small block V-8. We also have the new 'Superman' Top Fuel, and Sprint Cars.

If that's not enough, Revell has also released the 2000 Nascar Monte Carlos and the 2000 Valvoline Taurus. While we are on Nascar, remember the Lumina? Get your bow tie on and prepare to go back down memory lane. Revell has an all new 'generic' Lumina which includes a coupon for a discount from Slixx decals. Now it's easy to build your favorite Lumina from the early '90's. The same concept applies to the new 'Slixx' Charger. Revell has reissued the '72-'74 Dodge Charger Funny car and you guessed it, you get a coupon from Slixx.

Mopar Mania: June 10th, 2000, The 1967 Dodge Charger from Revell has arrived in stock and all we can say is wow! This guy is a two in one and can be built stock or "bad to the bone" drag. If we have an ounce of Mopar blood in our system how can we resist either of these new Chargers from Revell and AMT respectively? We will begin shipping RMX 7669 1967 Dodge Charger $7.50 next week in honor of Revell's Street date. So, get your orders in now, and be the first to be thrilled by this all new Charger kit. Other items now in stock include:
Monogram resissue of the Midget Racer Mono PC-1 $7.50
Baldwin Motion Drag Cobra RMX 7664 $8.45
1/8 scale Iroc-Z Camaro RMX 2610 $52.90 (Limited edition: only a couple left)

From AMT we also have the beautiful predecorated 1957 Chrysler 300. This is a full glue plastic kit, but it does not require painting and comes with a beautiful rich dark green finish. You may order AMT 30247 $13.90. We also have the pre-decorated 1941 Woody which has the same blueish color scheme as the kit featured on the box and viewable at our AMT 2000 link. You may order the Woody with part # AMT 30248 $13.90. Pics of these kits will be coming soon. If this is your first time visiting, you may want to scroll down through the "old news" for tons of links to kits. Also be sure to visit the "2000" links in the left column.
From: May 26, 2000 Greetings from Atlanta! Here at last! This new 1971 Charger is just too cool! Featuring the detailed 440 cu. in. V-8 motor and the now trademark AMT separate frame and suspension setup, this one is sure to please the hungry Mopar fan and the just plain car fan. We have plenty in stock ready to ship at the low Model Roundup price of $7.50. Order AMT 30053 today! Have a very pleasant Memorial Day Weekend. A special thanks to all of you who have served or are currently serving in the United States armed forces!

May 19, 2000: Hi gang, one quick update for May 19th. We have the new AMT 1939 Chevy Wagonrod and the stock version of the 1966 Buick Riviera. These are "must have" classics with all new tooling in 1/25 scale detailed plastic kits. Complete ordering info and pics at AMT 2000. We understand the new 1971 Charger could be here any day. The new Millennium kits and the 1950 Austin from Revell are in stock. Thanx for stopping by!

May 4,2000 - We have six hot new kits for May now posted respectively on the AMT 2000 and Revell 2000 picture pages. Kits include three new selections from AMT's Millennium Limited Production Program: 1963 Ford Galaxy 500, 1955 Chevy Belair 210 'Post Sedan', & 1963 Studebaker Avanti. All of these are available to order now at our special $8.90 introductory price. We expect to begin shipping the kits the week of May 7th. From Revell's archives come popular reissues of the 1950 Austin Coupe, 1985 IROC Z in 1/8 scale, and the 'Garbage Truck' seventies show rod by Tom Daniels.

Luv Buggy!
March 1, 2000 Talk about a blast from the past! Check out Lindberg's limited reissue of the 'Luv Buggy'. Don't let let all those flower power markings fool you. Underneath is the classic Fiat Topolino...one of the hottest cars to burn up the strips in the 60's. Remember the AMT Fiat Double Dragster kit? Yep, this is the same Fiat in a highly detailed 1/12 scale kit. Featuring detailed real wiring, and an operating coil spring suspension, this one is sure to please. It even has a real electric motor that you can hide in the engine. Check this baby out along with the other new kits from Lindberg by clicking on Lindberg 2000. In additon to the Fiat, you will want to see the new 1948 Lincoln, 1935 Auburn, and 1937 Cord. Feb 14, 2000: Hello, please note that we have recently added the Indy Car Section and the Miscellaneous Racing Section. You can access these pages from the underlined links in this text or from the catalog page. The big news here is all the new pictures. We have all the Indy cars pictured and about 80% of the ASA, IMSA, Short Track, and Sprint cars pictured. It's worth a look. More coming soon. We have begun with AMT 2000 , and will soon add Revell-Monogram, Lindberg and others. Please tell us how you like this format.

Please note that some older versions of Netscape are no longer compatible with our secured ordering system. We also have had a few recurring problems with AOL's version of Internet Explorer. On our ordering page, we have provided links to Netscape and to IE which should allow you to update your browser. If you experience difficulties, please email us or call. We also want you to be aware that you do not have to fill out the order form every time you order if you have ordered before. All we need is the word 'Order' on the reference line of an email. In the text of the email just put: 1. Your first and last name, 2. Your City & State 3. The items you wish to order 4. the last four numbers of your credit card on file with us and the expiration date with the directions 'bill my card on file'. Repeat customers find this to be a real time-saver. If we need further information, we will contact you.

"HOT NEWS !!! May 2, 1999 AMT Early Releases !! "

While we were all getting used to delays in new kit releases, AMT/ERTL is now setting the pace by releasing kits up to a month before their scheduled release dates. Here are 6 new items which are in stock today. Please click on the underlined item to see a picture and use the back button on your browser to return here. First, AMT Modified Stockers: 1966 Buick Skylark (AMT 30147) , 1965 Olds 88 (AMT 30143), and 1969 Falcon (AMT 30142). Please note these kits are $9.90 each and do not lend themselves to being built stock. They are nicely detailed 1/25 kits set up for Oval Track racing. These kits are part of AMT's limited release "Buyer's Choice Program" Series 8. Next, we have the 1966 Olds 442 Convertible (AMT 6275 $7.50). Then we have, A new Street Machine Set (AMT 30104) which includes the '66 Nova Street Machine, '67 Chevelle Street, and the 67 Impala Street. This set sells for $20.90. Finally, we have the new John Deere 310 Backhoe (AMT 15043). This kit has not been around for over 20 years and we sell it at the discounted price of $19.90. March 18th, 1999: Greetings from Atlanta!
"Spring is Here!"

And the manufacturers have given us a lot for 1999!

Please note that all of the new kits for 1999 and selected diecast are now listed in a seperate section for your convenience. You can find these available from the main catalog page or on this page down below. Pre-orders on these kits are welcome, just be sure to let us know if we should hold your entire order or ship as kits become available. Shipping charges apply to all shipments. We regret that we cannot hold out of production kits until unreleased kits come in stock.

We also have some unfortunate news from Revell/Monogram. The following kits announced for 1999 have been delayed into 2000 including: 1959 Corvette Roadster, 1956 Chevy Del Ray Sedan, 1970 Ford Torino Cobra, Baldwin Motion Drag Cobra, Mr Norm’s 1968 Dodge Dart, and the 1967 Dodge Charger. Let’s hope these great kits get back on track in 2000!

We have the following new kits from Lindberg in stock including: The 1996 Crown Victoria "Orange County Fire Chief" with a good little MX-7000 light bar- $9.45, 1964 Plymouth Belvedere Stock -$9.60, and the 1953 Belair Hopper ($13.25). This one is a little nicer than the 1964 released last year as it has working headlights and taillights. We put one together here in about 15 minutes and it’s a great conversation piece, but still "toyish."

A whole new round of AMT Buyer’s Choice Limited Production kits is coming in May including: 1965 Oldsmobile Modified Stocker, 1966 Buick Skylark Modified Stocker, and the The 1969 Ford Falcon Modified Stocker. These cars individually have been bringing upwards of $150.00 each on the collector market. Be sure to pick some up when we have them for $9.90 each in late May! We will have pictures of these great new kits up soon. AMT also made some cool announcements at the Toy Fair in New York in February including: reissues of the Beatles Yellow Submarine, Daisy Duke’s Jeep, John Deere Tractor, and John Deere Backhoe/Loader. Look for these items in the 1999 AMT listings on this site.

Finally, we have a new round of Limited editions from Revell Monogram this June including: USRRC Shelby Cobra with painted Carroll Shelby & Miles figures (1/24) ($13.40), A Modified Racer with Trailer (1/24) ($13.40), and a Vintage Tony Nancy Dragster (Looks like Rear engine Wynn’s Revelliner Top Fuel) (1/25) ($12.60). Speaking of limited editions, we still have a few of the limited Cartoon Network “Scoobie Doo at Zombie Island” Taurus RMX 4146 $13.60 (1 of 5000) , Interstate batteries Small Soldiers Pontiac RMX 4144 $13.60 and the Spy vs. Spy Firebird Funny Car with Lapel Pin RMX 4147 $13.90 and the McDonald’s Bill Elliot Gold Plated Taurus RMX 4145 $18.90.

We are in the midst of tripling the size of the web site and increasing the bandwidth capacity. All these changes are taking longer than we had hoped. We are still committed to offering you a very robust and up to date web site this year. You will see changes coming very fast once we get some design and HTML issues resolved. In the meantime, thanks for your continued support. If you need something you cannot find here, just email us.
