December 20, 2006: Revell Plastic 2006 Magnum and Testors 2006 Plastic Chargers

Check out the details! These are closeups of an actual Testors Charger RT built by Bruce Owen. Testors released both the 2006 Charger RT and the 2006 Daytona Charger versions today. We are advised by Testors that the Police Car Version has been delayed, but will be along in the next month or two. From a quick inspection of the RT kit, we can report that the kits are highly detailed including about 150 parts. With all major parts molded crisply in white, the kit includes bright chrome parts, vinyl tires, and clear glass seperated into individual windows, headlights and taillights. The hood opens to reveal the authentic modern Hemi powerplant packed inside. Frankly, the kit is so detailed and nicely packaged that it reminds me of a Tamiya kit. We tip our hats to Testors for creating such a modern model masterpiece. This kit is sure to be up for new kit of the year honors.

We will begin working on your pre-orders this week and new orders are welcome now. For more pictures and ordering information, please visit our Other Manufacturers Gallery now.
Also, this week,as expected, we are beginning to ship 4 new kits from Revell today including the 2006 Magnum, 1970 Firebird, and two new Choppers. For more pictures and ordering information, please visit the Revell Gallery.

December 10, 2006: 12 New kits added to Coming Soon Gallery

Hi Folks: as promised, we have begun to populate our Coming Soon Gallery with some of the hot new kits coming in 2007. As you can imagine, we are very busy helping Santa Claus right now, but we will continue to update you as release dates approach. You may check out the new kits we have posted now in the Coming Soon Gallery.

The only new item this week is AMT's new Standard Display Case which will replace the old AMT-8226. This new 'Crystal Clear' Acrylic Case now features a mirror finish botton to show off your chassis detail. We have these available now and you can find them in the AMT Gallery.

Many of you have been wondering what's going on with Lindberg and Hawk. Here's the scoop. J. Lloyd International, a 'hobby-experienced' management company, has acquired the plastic tooling of both Hawk Models and Lindberg. J. Lloyd, comprised of former executives from Testors and Revell with a knowledge of and commitment to plastic kits, will be reissuing a host of models in 2007 including the 1953 Ford, the 1964 Dodge, the 1969 Dodge L-700 Tilt Cab and more. We will be stocking the full line and will put pictures and ordering information on our site before the end of this year.

Finally, we can let you know that Model King has the following projects in the works for 2007 including a 1943 Willys Pickup Gasser, a Hubert Platt/Phil Bonner '64 Thunderbolt, a 1971 Thunderbird, and a Mack DM-600 Over the Road Tractor. We will have pictures and ordering information on these soon. Thanks for stopping by!

November 24, 2006: 2006 Camaro Concept Car, 1937 Chevy Coupe, Jeep Commando, 1993 Mustang Cobra

Apparently, General Motors has 'greenlighted' the 2006 Camaro Concept Car for regular production in 2007. Similar to the 2005 Mustang from Ford Motor Company, the new Camaro takes obvious vintage styling cues from its late '60's ancestors. This car looks hot! You may order your new Camaros now, and ordering details are available in the AMT Gallery. While in the AMT Gallery, be sure not to miss the vintage reissue of MPC's Jeep Commando and the always popular AMT 1937 Chevy Coupe.

This week Revell released a reissue of the 1993 Mustang Cobra. You may see this and all recent Revell releases in the Revell Gallery. Thanks for stopping by!

November 18, 2006: AMT 1963 Ford Galaxy in Nostalgic Box

Hi folks: as expected, the AMT 1963 Fords in the nostalgic boxes have arrived. This is another straight reissue of the classic AMT 1963 Ford Galaxy 500 Fastback. For something a little different, check out our our Resin Roundup and see the 1963 Notchback body that works perfectly with this chassis. We do wish all of our fellow Americans a Happy Thanksgiving Holiday. After the Holiday, we hope to create some previews for you of new kits coming in 2007. Thanks all for stopping by!

November 4, 2006: New kits coming this Fall:

Our close friend, Dave the Model King, has announced two new kits for this Fall including these great looking Lindberg Vintage Dirt Track Cars and the Revell Firebird Pro-Stock. Last issued in 1967 as 'White Lightning' and 'Kustom Koffin', these period correct 1/25 kits are sure to please the round track enthusiasts. While the kits themselves are somewhat crude, they lend themselves perfectly to the kind of detailing and enhancements adult modelers love to execute. The bodies alone are well worth the price of admission. Remember, you get two complete kits in one box. This combo kit is sure to be another winner from Model King. These kits are expected in late December to early January. Production has been limited even further than usual to 3000 pieces, so pre-orders are important now on this soon to be legendary kit. We do not have the 'official' part number yet, so please use the temporary ordering code of 'linvindirt2', short for Lindberg Vintage Dirt Track Combo. While you take a look at the Vintage Dirt Track Combo, be sure to take a look at Model King's forthcoming Firebird Pro-Stock. If you are a racing builder, you know how hard it is to find decent affordable Pro-Stock kits. Expected in early 2007, and also limited to 3000 pieces, we are accepting pre-orders now. Check both these kits out now and review all of the Model King kits now in the Model King Gallery.

AMT's much anticipated 2006 Camaro Concept Car will be out later this month along with a reissue of the 1963 Ford Galaxie in a replica of the original 1963 Vintage box. Ordering information for both of these kits is available now in our Coming Soon Gallery.

Finally, while you are in the Coming Soon Gallery, be sure not to miss 6 new kits from Revell expected later this year including, 2006 Magnum SRT-8, the 1957 Chevy Pro Sportsman, 1970 Firebird, 1993 Cobra SVT and two more Chopper kits. Pictures and ordering information for each of these new kits is available now in our Coming Soon Gallery.

Finally, coming in January from Dirt Track Racecars, we have three new kits including the 1934 Ford Early Modified, 1932 Ford Vicky 2 'n 1, and the 1932 Ford Coupe 2 'n 1. See these kits now in the Coming Soon Gallery.

October 21, 2006: International Payhauler, 1924 Street 'T' with Trailer
Two new kits from AMT and ten new kits from Revell are available now. Please see the Revell kits in the Revell Gallery and the AMT kits in the AMT Gallery. We will expand on these new arrivals here in the next couple of days and we will have new kit annoucements soon. Please stay tuned...

October 19, 2006: Model King/Revell 1954 Chevy Gasser
Including both a 1953 and 1954 Chevy front grill the Revell 1954 Chevy Gasser in 1/25 scale has not been issued for about 25 years. This one, molded in white, is for the most part a straight reissue of the original kit. The doors do not open on this version, however, the rear wheel openings are still in the square stock condition with lines to cut out the larger rounded openings needed for the big drag tires. This leads to the question of whether the kit can be built stock. It appears that the parts for the stock engine are there. However, the kit includes only one set of custom wheels like you see in the picture and only one set of Big/Little Vinyl Drag Racing Tires. The Chassis has several height options for front and rear, so the builder has some options with the chassis set up. I would guess with a stock set of wheels and tires (not included) one could build a passable stock version. Production was limited to 5004 pieces on this, so get 'em now if you want 'em. We are beginning to ship pre-orders this week. Thanks for stopping by.

October 11, 2006: MPC Tiger Shark

Originally issued by AMT in 1965 as Bill Cushenberry's Car Craft Dream Rod, this beauty was reissued in 1966 by MPC as the sligtly varied Tiger Shark. Its wonderful details and authenticity, coupled with its opening doors and hood, have made this kit a staple of the late 60's and early 70's. When AMT announced this limited production kit at the 2005 New York Toy Fair, they did not know that the tool for the Tiger Shark body would have to be redone. To their credit, rather than cancelling the kit, AMT stepped up to the plate and invested the dollars required to fix the tool. The result is a reissue with a crisp sharply engraved first generation body. The kit we inspected was molded in white, with bright chrome. The revolving display stand is present with the rubber bands to power it and the real metal beebee size ball bearings to keep it rolling. What a hoot! The clear windows, translucent red taillight, and real vinyl tires round out the kit. This one is a keeper folks. Get 'em while they last. Complete ordering information and more new AMT kits are in the AMT Gallery.

September 26, 2006: Ohio George Multi Maverick

It's all in the details! How many model kits actually let you change classes (engine and wheel positions) after the model is built? This one does! Featuring an authentic Montgomery Maverick body, an authentic Chapman chassis, an authentic Ford Semi-Hemi engine, and a realistic racing interior, the Multi-Maverick features an adjustable wheelbase and engine position even after the model is built. Model King brings us yet another legendary kit from the original MPC tooling. Most of you will want two of these to build both Gasser and Altered racing class options. We will begin working through your pre-orders this week and new orders are welcome. Production has been limited to 5004 kits, so now is the time to order before they all get away. Be sure to check out this kit and other new AMT kits in the AMT Gallery. Finally, Please note that if your order included the Model King 1953/54 Chevy which we expect in early November, your order may be held to conserve shipping costs. Thanks for stopping by!

September 13, 2006: 1979 Ford Pickup

Hi folks, a few newsworthy items have arrived in our warehouse this week including the 1970 Torino Cobra 1/25 kit from Revell and the all new Chevy L-89 Big Block Engine. For more pictures and ordering information, please visit the Revell Gallery. From AMT this week we have the famous Silhouette Show Car with it's unique bubble trailer. Check out the Silhouette now in the AMT Gallery. Finally, showing some welcome signs of life, Testors has released their cool little 1/25 scale dual axle diecast Trailer kit. Pictures of the Trailer and ordering information are available now in the Testors Kit Gallery.

We are still busy working through pre-orders including the AMT 1979 Ford Pickup, so telephone hours are still slightly limited. The best way to contact us in this busy shipping season is through the web site or by email. We do always welcome your calls, and if you prefer to order by phone, and happen to get our recording, be sure to leave your name and number so we can get back to you. Thanks for stopping by!
September 9, 2006: 1979 Ford Pickup

As planned, the 1978/79 Ford Pickups have arrived. We will begin working on your pre-orders this week. New orders are welcome. Ordering details and more pictures are available now in the AMT Gallery

September 6, 2006: Blue Oval Paradise: 1950 Ford Convertible, 1959 Ford Farilane 500

This week, we begin shipping the great AMT 1950 Ford Convertible. This is one of my absolute favorite kits to build. Featuring a host of custom parts that have survived from the vintage tooling, this kit truly represents the best of vintage AMT. When you visit the AMT Gallery , be sure to click on the thumbnail, as we have also provided a view of the side panel that pictures many of the custom parts in this true (3 'n 1) kit. While in the AMT Gallery, be sure not to miss the new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII from 'Fast and Furious 3'.

This week from Revell, we have another classic Ford, the 1959 Fairlane 500 with working retractable hardtop. Though this kit is a little more difficult to build with the multi-piece body implementation, with a little time and skill, one can build a beautiful replica of this classic Ford. The kit is molded in the dark green color that you see on the box top pictured here. While white would have been better for painting, the multi-piece body does lend itself to an easy two-tone paint job. However, to cover the dark green, you will most likely need primer. More pictures and ordering information are available now in the Revell Gallery. While there, be sure to see the reissue of Revell's authentic Chris-Craft Sport Fishing Boat. Created in 1/55 scale, the boat features highly detailed in scale fishing equipment. Finally, rounding out Revell's offerings this week, we have the Revell Germany Mini Cooper. The Mini is a great little curbside molded crisply in white with highly detailed and authentic interior, chassis, and wheels. We will begin shipping your pre-orders for these new kits this week and new orders are welcome. We hope all of our friends in the USA have a great Labor Day Weekend!

August 25, 2006: 1976 Caprice with Trailer

Here's a jewel; we have just received the wonderful reissue of the MPC 1976 Caprice with Dual Axle Trailer. These kits are available now as listed in the AMT Gallery.

August 16, 2006: Nostalgic Drag Race Set, MPC Blue Max, AMT 350Z, Revell '56 Nomad

This may be the coolest Model Kit Set to be issued in the last 30 years! The much anticipated Model King Nostalgic Drag Race Set is in the house. Featuring a 1979 Bronco, pulling a 1968 Rupp and Steffy Cougar Funny Car, on a tandem axle race car trailer, this kit brings back memories of some of the great AMT sets from 35 and 40 years ago. Just check out the cool cutaway view of the Cougar above. All molded crisply in white with real rubber tires, this kit is sure to be the Collector kit of the future. Production was limited to 5004 and the set will not be reissued. Builders may want to note that the Trailer is from the vintage AMT Race Team Set which was pulled by the 1953 Ford Pickup. Having said that, the kit's trailer does include the front tire rack. The tire rack is optional when building and is not pictured in the prototype pictures. We have a large backlog of pre-orders for this item and will be shipping them as fast as we can over the next two weeks. New orders are welcome.

Also arriving today, we have the classic MPC Long Nosed Mustang Blue Max Funny Car. Drag Racing Modelers know that nothing beats the old MPC Drag kits. The Blue Max Mustang with the newly tooled 2006 Nissan 350Z will round out the offerings from AMT this week. You can see them all and get ordering information in the AMT Gallery.

From Revell this week, we have the always popular 1956 Nomad. Don't let the box art fool you. Revell left the stock parts in and you can build this classic bone stock. The first two 2006 Monte Carlos also came in this week which are the Dupont and the Lowes. You may see all the new Revell kits in the Revell Gallery now.

Next month look for the 1970 Torino from Revell along with the 1/6 scale L89 Big Block Chevy Engine. We have pictures of these available now in our Coming Soon Gallery. Thanks for stopping by!

July 23, 2006: 6 new kits from Revell:

July 23, 2006: New Resin kits: '58 Pontiac, 61 Olds and More:

July 18, 2006: Iowa Shaker, 1970 Monte Carlo, 1967 Mustang

We just received the last installment of Model King's 1965 Falcon Altered Wheelbase Dragsters with the Iowa Shaker. Production on this kit was limited to 2500, which is sure to make it a future collector's item. The last Falcon kit with only 2500 kits was the Wild Child Falcon, and those sold out and disappeared quickly. We also have two more cars from the 'Fast and Furious 3' movie including the 1970 Monte Carlo and the 1967 Mustang Fastback. Both of these kits can be built stock or custom. For more pictures and ordering information, please visit the AMT Gallery. Thanks for stopping by!

July 15, 2006: Revell Choppers, Donks, 2006 Nascar, Pirate Ship

This week's Model Car News will cover several mid-year new releases from Revell. We start with the newly tooled Corvette C6-R. The factory backed Corvette® Racing team won 10 of 11 races in 2005 clinching the GT1 class title in the American LeMans racing series, the fifth straight title for Chevy®. Piloting the #3 car was Ron Fellows, Johnny O'Connell and Max Papis and in the #4 car was Oliver Gavin, Olivier Baretta and Jan Magnussen. This new Revell plastic kit will feature an authentic newly-tooled C6R body and many new race parts. Street Date on this kit is August 2, 2006 and as with other new Revell Announcements, pre-orders are welcome now. To see pictures of all the new Revell kits for August, please visit our Coming Soon Gallery.

While in the Coming Soon Gallery, be sure to check out Jairus Watson's rendition of Revell's four new kustom Chopper kits. Mean, loud and low. Just as they should be. They're all 1:12 scale, so they're big, too. Over 8 inches long when completed. Each will have either a long or short style frame and fork. Plus extra parts so you can customize yours-each will have two sets of wheels, two fuel tanks, two drive chain covers, two air cleaner covers and two different sets of exhaust pipes. There will be two coming out August 2, "Crusader" and "Aces Wild". Then look for two more in August, "Torch" and "Bone Daddy".

Next we have the Donks. Donks are the wildest new trend on the street scene and there is absolutely no way you can miss 'em! Forget about 20 inch rims, with these monsters, you may need to put an altimeter next to the gas gauge! This new Revell kit will also be released August 2, and will include stock wheels and tires along with these outrageous large rims and low profile tires, your choice of raised or stock suspensions, full engine detail and both custom and stock waterslide decals.

Many of you are raving about the quality and detail in the new Revell Metal & Plastic 1/6 scale Engine kits. September 6, we will begin shipping the new Chevy L89 Big Block. This engine found its way into many Chevy models during the 1960's and was one of the most feared motors on the street. With three two-barrel carbs, it cranked out 435 horsepower. This new Revell kit is painted in a correct shade of Chevy Engine Orange with silver on the cylinder heads to simulate the rare L89 aluminum heads. Highly detailed as you would expect including chrome plated plastic valve covers and air cleaner, fuel and vacuum lines, ignition wiring and rubber fan belts. This is an engine that many of you have asked for and it will look great on your shelf alongside your other engine kits.

Jimmie Johnson and the Lowes® sponsored crew is one of the most competitive teams on the NASCAR® NEXTEL® circuit. They're seemingly always up at or near the top of the point standings year in and year out. Now Revell brings you the new 2006 version of the #48 Monte Carlo™ SS™ with a new, accurate body and newly tooled dash with engraved electronics detail. Add the revised, accurate Lowes decal graphics and you have a sure winner for your shelf. This skill level 3 will begin shipping August 23 with the 2006 Dupont Monte Carlo.

July 8, 2006: F & F Toyota, Smokey the Convoy Chaser, L'il Yeller, L'il Mixer

Hi folks, this week we have the new Veilside Toyota Supra from Fast and Furious 3 as well as Smokey the Convoy Chaser Dart. Your pre-orders for these items will begin shipping next week and new orders are welcome now. You can see both of these kits and get more information in the AMT Gallery.

We also are pleased to announce 4 new private production AMT kits from our friends at Stevens International. These include the always popular 1937 Chevy Coupe, the 1982 Jeep Commando, and two very rare old AMT show car kits, L'il Mixer and L'il Gasser. You can see pictures of and get ordering information for these great old kits now in the Coming Soon Gallery.

Finally, based on our suggestion, Model King plans to issue, for the first time, Hubert Platt's Georgia Shaker 1964 Fairlane T'bolt. This kit will also have decals for Phil Bonner's Daddy Warbucks Tbolt. Hubert always said the Thunderbolt was his favorite car. We should have news on the new Revell Choppers posted soon, so check back often. Thanks for stopping by!

June 24, 2006: Richie Evans '36 Chevy Modified, AMT '66 Impala and '69 Torino Modifieds, 2006 Viper

They called him "The King of the Modfieds", and at long last we finally have the kit that honors the great Richie Evans in the orange # 61. This kit is from the MPC tooling and has the 'asphalt style' chassis. Our 1966 Impala Modified Stockers and 1969 Torino Modified Stockers are in route to us now. We anticipate that we can begin shipping these by Thursday June 29th. To see more pictures and obtain detailed ordering information on each of these new kits, please visit the AMT Gallery.

Finally, this week Revell released the all new 2006 Viper SRT-10 Coupe. Check out this kit and all the new Revell kits in the Revell Gallery now. Thanks for stopping by!

June 5, 2006: Two new 1968 Chevy resin kits

This week we have two new resin offerings from Model King resins including the 1968 Chevelle pictured here, and the 1968 Impala SS 427. Please visit our Resin Roundup for ordering information. Be sure to read all the information we have posted about resin as these resin transkits are not complete kits and are intended for advanced modelers.

June 1, 2006: 2006 Corvette Coupe, 1967 Coronet, 1980's Cadillac, Pete 359, AMT 1957 Ford

As planned, we have begun shipping five new Revell kits including the Stone, Woods, and Cook Willys, the 1967 Dodge Coronet 'Hemi' RT (2 'n 1), the 2006 Corvette ZO6 Coupe, the 1980's Cadillac Custom, and the Peterbilt 359 Snap kit. Pictures and ordering information are available now in the Revell Gallery.

Also, this week, AMT released a nice reissue of the 1957 Ford Fairlane (2 'n 1). Please visit our AMT Gallery for pictures of both the stock and custom versions. While you are there, you will also see a reissue of the 1967 Mustang Shelby 350 Fastback.

As most of you know, the Coronet was the mainstream mid-size model in the Dodge lineup and proved itself to be a dependable workhorse. But, if you checked off the box for the RT package, you received bucket seats and console, extra trim inside and out and access to the whole line of Dodge high-performance engines. The Revell 1967 Coronet kit is an old friend with some new parts including newly tooled large diameter wheels and low profile tires. Thankfully, the 'old school' stock wheels and tires are also present. The kit also includes a highly detailed chassis with seperately molded suspension, exhaust and drivetrain parts.

The newly tooled Revell 1980's Cadillac also deserves some mention. For many lowrider enthusiasts, it's not just how low, but also how long, and they don't come much bigger than this big Coupe DeVille. It's powerful V-8 engine, body-on-frame construction and luxurious interior trim make it a perfect candidate for the 'low 'n slow' treatment. This kit is crisply engraved and highly detailed with an opening hood revealing the big Cadillac V-8. The kit also features an opening truck revealing the obligatory big stereo and hydrolics. While we would like to see a stock version of this kit, this Cadillac custom is well worth the price of admission. Revell does offer a couple of chassis set-ups to run stock or low, but stock tires and wheels are not included. If you would like to see a true stock version of this Cadillac, why don't you let Revell know. You can provide them feedback on their web site at www.revell.com . Click the 'Contact Us' link, and then click the feedback form. They need to hear from more adult modelers.

We have more great stuff to announce soon and the Summer is shaping up to be an exciting one for new kit releases. You can stay up to date right here on our web site, and you can also subscribe for free to our monthly email briefing. Thanks for stopping by!

While in the Revell Gallery, be sure to check out the new Ferrari F-430.

We are also pleased to present a couple of new kits from Testors this week. While we are not the biggest fans of diecast kits, sometimes the subject matter is so compelling that we have to carry them. Furthermore, Testors has established a great reputation for quality, detail and realism in their die cast kits. Take a peek at the all new Tall T and the 1941 Chevy Custsom now in the newly revised Testors Gallery. Thanks for stopping by.

April 11, 2006: Gridiron Grabber, '59 El Camino, '86 Monte Carlo

This week, the first of the exciting new kits for Spring have begun to arrive. First issued in 1965 as part of AMT's historic Trophy Series, the 1959 El Camino (3 'n 1) has always been a modeler's favorite. The 'Batmobile Styling' of the stock vehicle lends itself to many wild custom ideas. Speaking of customs, AMT also released the Gridiron Grabber this week. The Gridiron Grabber is a famous but rare old MPC Showcar from the 70's with a football motif and a ton of custom parts. Ordering information for both of these AMT models is available in the AMT Gallery.

With its racing inspired aerodynamic nose, the '86 Monte Carlo SS was one of the most popular of all Monte Carlos, and remains so to this day. Featuring the original notchback body style, the SS combined trim, good looks and potent V-8 power. Check out this custom version with hot wire wheels. Order information is available now in the Revell Gallery Thanks for stopping by.

March 24, 2006: Sneak a Peek at the '68 Cougar:

Hi folks, we just got a picture of this build up of the exciting Model King 1968 Cougar Funny Car Set. The set includes a 1968 Cougar Funny Car from the vintage AMT tooling, along with the 1979 Bronco, and the Dual Axle racing trailer. What a set! Pre-order information is available now in the Coming Soon Gallery. We expect these to be released in late Summer-2006. While in the Gallery, be sure to check out Hubert Platt's Iowa Shaker Falcon which was also announced this week.

March 4, 2006: '72 Blazer, 74 Malibu, Henry J, '66 Impala Modified, '69 Torino Modified, '40 Ford with flathead V-8

This week we lead with 5 important Private Production kits expected in April including the 1974 Malibu Grand National Race Car, the Henry J Gasser, the 1972 Blazer, the 1966 Impala Modified Stocker and the 1969 Torino Modified Stocker. Detailed ordering information and pictures of each of these kits are available now in the Coming Soon Gallery. Pre-orders are suggested at this point as we tend to stock up based on your pre-orders. Remember, we do not bill your pre-orders until we ship. While in the Coming Soon Gallery be sure to take a look at 10 new AMT kits planned for 2006.

We have not really focused on the 1972 Blazer which will arrive in April. Some of you will remember the original issue of this kit called the "Boondocker" issued in 1976. The kit was reissued in 1982 as the "Bandit", but the original authentic off-road tires and the roof were absent and apparently the tooling was lost. Then, along came the Model King to finance the restoration of the lost parts. The newly restored Model King Blazer molded in white will include the roof and original off-road tires, and this restoration expense explains the higher price on this particular kit. You may want to note that the picture featured above is not a real Blazer, but a model built from a Model King Test shot by master modeler Ken Hamilton. Ken also, built the trailer diorama which you can barely see in the background from the Model King Camper kit.

Finally this week, we have some early arrivals from Revell. Expected in April but available now are the new 1940 Ford Street Rod, the 1932 Ford Highboy, the 1966 GTO and the Acura RSX. Although basically nice Revell reissues, the big news is the new detailed flathead V-8 which Revell has popped in the 1940 Ford Street Rod. Combined with the dropped front axle and custom wheels, Revell provides even more building opportunites for an already great kit. Check out all the new Revell kits now in the Revell Gallery

February 20, 2006: Accurate Miniatures 1963 Corvette Grand Sports

Hi folks, we just received the first two of the Accurate Miniatures Corvette Grand Sports. These highly detailed and perfectly executed 1/24 scale plastic kits set a new standard when they were first released several years back. Now, back with their unique photo-etch and new authentic paint schemes and decals, these kits are sure to please both the Corvette and Endurance Racing Enthusiasts. Check out more pictures and obtain ordering informaton now in the Other Manufacturer's Gallery.

Also, this week four new kits from Revell have arrived including the 1941 Willys Street Rod, the 1932 Ford, the ever popular and in demand 1998 Ramair Firebird. The 1969 Camaro hardtop rounds out the new Revell kits for February. Check them all out now in the Revell Gallery

February 14, 2006: MPC Tiger Shark

We just got news from the New York Toy Fair that AMT's Special Toy Fair Exclusive kit this year will be the MPC Tiger Shark. Designed by Bill Cushenberry and originally issued in 1964 as the Car Craft Dream Rod, this particular kit in 1/25 scale has always been most sought after by builders and collectors. Average collector prices range from about $170.00 to $220.00 for a nice original. In 1966 MPC reissued the kit with minor modifications as the Tiger Shark. Some of you will remember the classic Turntable Display Stand which will be included with this reissue. AMT tells us that the kits will be ready in July and will be manufactured to order, so we need your pre-orders now. Until we have an AMT part number, you may order with the code AMT tigershark. Pre-ordering information is available now in our Coming Soon Gallery. Remember, we do not bill pre-orders until they are shipped and you are always welcome to add to or cancel pre-orders.
We will leave you this week with a picture of a tasty tidbit coming from Model King later this year. We do not have pricing information yet, and we are not accepting pre-orders. Preliminary plans have the the 1968 STP Cougar Funny Car kit (not pictured) on a trailer pulled by a late '70's Bronco. This planned Combo kit will obviously be attractive. As soon as we have more concrete information, we will let you know here first. If you have not signed up for our electronic mailing list, you may do so now with this handy link. This is a great way to make sure you do not miss any big announcements. Thanks for stopping by.

February 10, 2006: 1965 Chevelle Modified, 1965 Fairlane Modified, Chrysler 300C, AMT Sprint Car/Super Modified (4 'n 1), New LaFrance Firetruck

Hi Folks, several significant kits arrived this week including the AMT 1965 Chevelle and Fairlane Modifieds from Model King, the vintage AMT Sprint Car/Super Modified from Dirt Track Racing, the sleek 2005 Chrysler 300C from AMT, and finally an all new American LaFrance Pumper from Trumpeter. We just received these kits on Friday the 10th and we will begin shipping your pre-orders that included these kits this week. We still have kits available for new orders, but the Modifieds and Sprint Cars could be in tight supply quickly. Please note that we have a larger than usual order backlog, and we are running about three days behind on shipping. With 326 total plastic and photo-etch parts the new Trumpeter American LaFrance Pumper is sure to be a hit with Emergency Equipment modelers. This highly detailed plastic kit in 1/25 scale features authentic interior and exterior details. The kit is unpainted, as we like it, and includes realistic decals. Ordering information is available now in the Other Manufacturer's Gallery

January 27, 2006: 1959 Imperial, Daddy Warbucks Mustang, 1978 Vega Pro Stock, 1970 Ford Galaxie,

The Model King 1965 Altered Wheelbase Daddy Warbucks Mustangs and the 1959 Imperials have just arrived in our warehouse! The Warbucks Mustang is essentially like the Dick Brannon Bronco A/FX Mustang, only this time, with Phil Bonner/Warbucks decals.

The 1959 Imperial, molded in white, can be built as a hardtop or convertible. Most of the original custom parts are included including the famous 'toilet seat' spare tire holder. The Imperial is a straight reissue from the 1959 tooling, and kits of this era did not include a detailed engine. The Car you see featured above is the model beautifully built by Vic Collins . Check all of the new AMT kits now in the AMT Gallery.

We also have received the MPC 1978 Vega Pro Stock and the AMT 1970 Ford Galaxie 4 door. Both of these are limited private production kits. The 1970 Ford includes a host of Police Gear (listed in the Gallery) and can be built stock or as a Police Interceptor.

Two kits from the AMT January Buyer's Choice have now arrived including the Wild Willie Borsch Winged Express Altered Rod and Tom Caspers 1/12 scale Shaker Trike. Finally, some other regular edition AMT kits are in stock now including the 1968 Camaro, Ford GT 90, AMT 2004 GTO and AMT Ford GT-40. These last two kits are from the Polar Lights tooling and we will describe any differences here when we have time to inspect the kits in detail.

As you can imagine we will be busy packing your pre-orders this week and telephone hours may be limited. We do welcome new orders and the quickest way to order is through our secure order form available by clicking 'How to Order' on the left side bar of every page on this web site.

January 21, 2006: Hurst Hemi Under Glass, 1966 Corvette Penske Racer, and Bud # 8 Monte Carlo

Hi folks, the 1966 Corvette Racers and 2005 Bud # 8 Monte Carlos arrived early from Revell. We have already begun shipping your pre-orders for these items. This week we will start shipping the AMT Encore Edition of the Hurst Hemi Under Glass 1966 Cuda, the 1961 Falcon Ranchero, and the Cadillac Escalade EXT. Please note that AMT incorrectly put a picture of a 1969 Hurst Hemi Cuda on the box. While this is a great picture of the '69, the kit inside is the famous 1966 Cuda with the big glass. The pictures we feature are of the '66 Hurst Hemi Under Glass since this matches the kit.

You may review pictures of the new AMT kits in the AMT Gallery.

Check back this weekend as we are about to post about 30 new kits for 2006 in the Coming Soon Gallery including a Stone, Woods, & Cook Willys, 1951 Anglia, 2006 Charger and more. Thanks for stopping by!

November 29, 2005: 1966 Ford Galaxie, New Versions of 1935 and 1936 Early Modifieds

Quick update, we are now shipping pre-orders for the Early Modified Chevys from AMT which were privately produced by Dirt Track Racing. Manufactured Quantites were 2500 per kit. We still have a few available for new orders. Check them all out now in the AMT Gallery. While in the AMT Gallery, be sure not to miss the new 1966 Galaxie 500 Resto Rod. Since the '66 Galaxie kit is one I am somewhat familiar with, I inspected it to see if the Nascar Parts with Roll Cage and wheels were still there. They are! In fact, this thing is loaded not only with parts I expected, but all the new Resto parts as well. The AMT 1966 Galaxy was always one of AMT's better kits, and now it is a bonanza with multiple stock, custom, and racing options! Highly Recommended.

November 19, 2005: Hurst Hemi Under Glass Encore Edition, Chrysler 300C

Who says you cannot teach an old dog new tricks? When the Model King embarked on his run of tasty and ignored vintage AMT and MPC kits, we knew that part of his gift to the hobby would be the restoration of and salvation of the great old tooling. As we understand it, since Model King was able to outsell the product planners at RC2/AMT with their own tooling, the corporate folks at RC2 had to take notice. Now we are witnessing a host of forgotton kits suddenly reissued in the regular AMT hobby line up. Examples are the Firefighter Mustang, and Piranha Racer. Here, in the return of the classic Hurst Hemi Under Glass to the regular AMT lineup, we have the first fruits of Model King's efforts.

In fact, AMT has been very busy both digging through their vintage tooling and tooling up some new soon to be classics. Be sure to visit the Coming Soon Gallery for a taste of what's coming early next year from our favorite manufacturer.

AMT debuted this built up test shot of their all new 2005 Chrysler 300C at the recent California Hobby Show. As you can see the kit is built stock with stock wheels. A couple of other new offerings include the Ford GT-90 and the Cadillac Escalade EXT. We have these all posted now in the Coming Soon Gallery

.
Finally, this week we have just received the 2005 Fourth Edition of the Model Car Directory and Price Guide by Coulter and Shelton. Bill Coulter, a noted author of at least 5 books on modeling and Bob Shelton, an avid collector an modeler of over 35 years, have combined forces to produce this "fourth edition" unbelievable reference book. Thousands of man hours have gone into this most comprehensive 250 + page Guide. Unlike other references, this one is not based on the author's prejudices and wishes, but on the average trading range of the actual models in the current marketplace. If you click over to Other Manufacturer's Gallery and click on the thumbnail of the cover, you will see a sample page we scanned for you to see the organization format. Please understand this Guide includes only cars & trucks in 1/25 and 1/24 scale by US manufacturers. In addition, it has Specialty and Show Cars, Foreign Cars, Big Rig Trucks, Nascar, Dragsters, Indy, Construction, and Civilian Type Boats. The Guide will count as one model kit for shipping purposes, so the best way to order one is with a model kit order.

November 16, 2005: 1939 Ford Sedan, Hemisphere Front Engine Vintage Rail, Blackbird Trans Am

This week three new items have arrived in our warehouse including the Private Production 'Hemisphere' Front Engine Dragster (last issued by AMT as Wynn's Jammer), the 1939/40 Ford Sedan which can be built stock or custom and as a 1939 or 1940, and finally the old MPC 1978 Trans Am 'Blackbird'. More pictures and ordering information are available now in the AMT Gallery.

These will be available more like the first or second week of January. We do encourage pre-orders for the Big T now to avoid disappointment. We also have some good news on the Maynard Troyer Pinto Modified; availability has improved to December, 2005. Pre-orders are recommended now for the Troyer Pinto. You may review all of the important new kits now in our Coming Soon Gallery.

While in the Coming Soon Gallery be sure not to miss the new Private Production Sprint Car/Super Modified (2 in 1) kit. For the Lowrider fans, it also includes those versatile Daytons wheels, bling, bling. If you click over to the Revell Gallery, and then click on the '53 Chevy pictured, you can see an expanded view of the model built in the stock and custom versions. Many of you have been anxious to hear a final 'Street Date' for both the 2006 Mustang GT and the 1969 1/12 scale Camaro. We are happy to report that we expect both of these in our warehouse by the beginning of November with a Revell 'Street Date' of November 9th. Pre-orders are encouraged now. We have tentative dates for the 1924 Big 'T' in 1/8 scale and the 1966 Penske Corvette Racer. Both of these kits are now scheduled in February of 2006.

Rounded out with a couple of new offerings in the Resin Roundup including a hot new 1964 Falcon which will work with the '64 Comet and a 1966 Buick Skylark, that's about it for this week. Thanks for stopping by!

October 1, 2005: Hummer H2, 1969 Mustang Mach I

This week we received the Civilian version of the Hummer the H2. This beautifully executed 1/25 glue kit from Revell molded in white has an opening rear hatch, detailed plush interior with huge stereo, and a removable roof rack. Including over 80 pieces, the kit does not have a detailed engine. For ordering information and more new kits from Revell, please visit the Revell Gallery.

September 24, 2005: Twister Nova A/FX, Chuckwagon Showcar

Hi friends in the hobby. We have just received the Twister Altered Wheelbase Nova and the Chuckwagon Showcar. We are already working on your pre-orders and should have them all shipped this week. We still have soem unallocated kits on both of these, but we are getting very tight on the Chuckwagons as our pre-orders are taking most of the inventory. Please note that the Twister is the same kit as the Ratpacker. What makes this kit is the vintage box art. With the exception of the updated AMT logo, this version of the Twister utilizes the original box art from the 1967 release...a nice touch which is exciting to many of us. This Side panel should bring back some memories:

You also may want to note that the Chuckwagon is in the slightly larger 1/20 scale typical of many MPC Showcars. For more pictures and ordering information, please visit the AMT Gallery.

September 16, 2005: 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Seville Hardtop, Impala Police Car

Revell released the first reissue of their classic 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Seville Hardtop this week. You can almost hear Led Zepplin music in the background. If the Caddy is speeding, we have the brand new, 2005 Impala Police Car to write the tickets. Both of these kits are 1/25 scale. The Cadillac is a highly detialed kit with opening hood and engine while the Impala is a snap kit. Both are molded in white. For more pictures and ordering information, please visit the Revell Gallery. Speaking of fast cars, don't miss the Miami Vice Testarossa in the Revell Gallery or the 2005 Budweiser # 8 in the AMT Gallery.
MORE MODIFIED STOCKERS: You may want to click over to the Model King Gallery and see the newly announced Modified Stockers including the 1965 Chevelle and the 1965 Fairlane. The Chevelle needed some significant tooling repair which explains why it is a little higher. I think we all agree it is worth some repair expense to get these great models out of retirement. Pre-orders are welcome now with delivery expected in January. Remember, we do not bill your pre-orders until they ship. Finally, you Trike fans need to get your pre-orders in for the Carl Casper Shaker Trike. Unlike the Trick Trikes, this bad boy is a big 1/12 scale kit for the same price as the little 1/25 scale Trick Trikes. The Shaker Trikes are limited and AMT closed the ordering for these today, so it is time to get on our pre-order list. Ordering details for the Shaker Trike, Gridiron Grabber and Wild Willie Borsch are in the Coming Soon Gallery.

September 3, 2005: 1970 Pontiac Bonneville and Drag Boat

Hi friends, the private production MPC 1970 Bonneville Convertibles with the Aqua Drag Boats have arrived. We are beginning to work throught the pre-orders now and anticipate shipping all pre-order for this item next week. If your pre-order also contained the forthcoming Altered Wheelbase Twister Chevy II Nova, your order will be held another week to include the Twister which we expect any day now. You may review all of the Model King forthcoming kits including a new 1972 Chevy Blazer in the Model King Gallery. Before you go, check out this custom pickup version of the 1970 Bonneville. Parts and instructions to build this version are included with the kit.

More Chopper Trikes ??? It seems the product/market planners at AMT are taking notice of the success of all the great private production kits. In particular, the Retro Hobby Trikes have proved to be quite a popular reissue. So, for the January Buyer's Choice Limited Production Program, AMT has selected Carl Casper's Shaker Trike as one of the three offerings. Powered by a dual quad 327 Chevy engine, this Chopper in big 1/12 scale is sure to keep the Trike enthusiasm alive. The January Buyer's Choice will also include a reissue of the Wild Willie Borsch Winged Express Altered Rod and the Gridiron Grabber Show Car. Please check these out in our Coming Soon Gallery for more pictures and pre-order information.

August 30, 2005: 1956 Del Ray, '69 Vette and More Resin kits!

Arriving today are the Keeling and Clayton 1/16 California Charger, 1956 Chevy Del Ray Custom, and the 1969 Corvette 427 Custom. We inspected the Del Ray to see if Revell had left the stock parts in and they had not. The kit does include modern 20 inch diameter custom wheels with low profile tires. The car is powered by the Chevy small block V-8 and includes custom valve covers and air cleaner. Colorful decals, as you see in the picture, are included. Gotta admit, the one pictured on the box top has a lot of gotcha appeal! Ditto, the always popular 1969 Vette. See both of these new kits with the Keeling and Clayton 1/16 scale Top Fuel Dragster in the Revell Gallery.

Be sure to check out our new resin kits in the Resin Roundup. We have just added a 1959, 1960, and 1962 Olds as well as a 1961 and 1963 Mercury. Rounding out the new ones this week is the 1974 AMC Hornet Hatchback Coupe. While we try to recommend donor kits to supply chassis and other parts for the resin transkits, on some, we are still looking. Please share your success stories back with us, so we can offer suggestions to other modelers. Remember, the resin kits are more for the seasoned builders as they require some ingenuity and deep parts boxes. Thanks for stopping by!

August 27, 2005: Mad Max Interceptor and Trick Trikes

Hi folks, you may want to check out some new resin kits in out in our Resin Roundup . We have just added the wonderful Mad Max Intereceptor Model from Cavalier Productions as well as their 1978 Falcon SC Cobra. Unlike the resin 'Transkits', these kits are complete with everything you need (except glue and paint) to build a curbside 1/25 scale replica. We also will be listing some more new resin transkits this weekend including a 1962 Oldsmobile four door. You gotta see this one!

The MPC Trick Trikes arrived in our warehouse late Friday August 26th. We will begin shipping your pre-orders for these on Tuesday August 30th. We understand that we will have the Twister A/FX Nova and the 1970 Bonneville with Boat by the first week in September. Ditto the Keeling & Clayton 1/16 California Charger. You may review all of this information and more in our Coming Soon Gallery.

August 12, 2005: 1964 Comet Caliente and Duke's of Hazzard 1969 Charger

Wow, things are heating up now. The 1964 Comets (pictured above) arrived today along with the final edition of the 1935 Chevy Early Modified Sedan. Also, AMT released the new movie version of the Dukes of Hazzard 1969 Charger. The Comet is a straight reissue from the Craftsman Series, and was last released in 1968. The 1935 Chevy Sedan is the same kit previously reissued by the Model King as 21373 packaged in a new box. The Dukes car, as we understand it, is the same kit, basically a Charger 500, that has come out for years as the TV version. I believe the real car is acually an RT for you purists, but the 500 seems to work as a reasonable replica. We will post more news as we get it. For now, we are buried in pre-orders for '64 Comets and will begin shipping those today. We do have extras and welcome new orders now. For more pricing and ordering information, please visit the AMT Gallery. The MPC Trick Trikes should be here in two weeks. You can see these in the Coming Soon Gallery.

While you are in the Coming Soon Gallery, be sure to check out nine new kits which we have just posted including 6 kits from the new AMT Nostalgic Series: Mustang II Pro Stock, '57 Vette Flip Nose, Dodge Deora, Barris 'T' buggy, '69 Camaro Convertible, and 'Blackbird' Trans Am. Please note also, the new 2005 Impala Police Car from Revell, as well as the '87 Mustang and '32 Ford Five Window from AMT. Pre-orders on these new items are welcome now, and detailed information with pictures is in the Coming Soon Gallery. Thanks for stopping by!

August 6, 2005: Ford GT-40

We expect the MPC 'Trick Trikes' in about two weeks and the 1964 Comets are expected this week. We will be busy processing your pre-orders until then. We also have the new 2004 GTO Australian Drift Car from Polar lights. The Drift Cars are available in Yellow w/blue graphics, Yellow w/silver graphics, Purple, and Pearl White. If you give us your color choices in order, we will do our best to accommodate your preferences. Please note that with the exception of the graphics, these are not significantly different from the stock 2004 GTO's released earlier this year. Ordering information for the Revell kits is available now in the Revell Gallery . Similarly, the GTO Drift Car is now posted in the Polar Lights Gallery. Thanks for stopping by.

June 24, 2005: Corvette C6
The Sixth generation Corvette has arrived, and it's hard to believe, but the GM engineers have actually topped the previous Corvette. June 11, 2005: 1964 Marauder, 1966 Nova, 1976 Nova, 1940 Woodie

Hi folks. Our focus this week is on a great AMT classic reissue; we start with the 1964 Mercury Marauder. Molded in neutral gray, this Marauder reissue includes all of the parts from the original 1964 kit, right down to real chassis screws and metal hood clips. That should bring back some memories! The kit has realistic Firestone Supreme tires and includes the parts to build your choice of stock, custom or race car versions. Please visit the AMT Gallery to see the Marauder as well as the new Dupont Monte Carlo and other recent AMT releases.

Nova Fans are in for a real treat this month with reissues of the 1966 and 1976 models. The AMT 1966 Nova is returning as part of the Boyd Custom Series. This coupled with the stock 1976 Nova which we have not seen for 25 years will make an irresistable combination. Finally, from AMT, be sure not to miss the 1940 Ford Woodie Custom. While this kit seems to use some of the parts from the old 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery, the kit appears to have a host of newly tooled parts. It's a beauty. See the Novas and the the new Woodie now in the Coming Soon Gallery.

While in the Coming Soon Gallery, be sure not to miss the new 2005 Corvette C-6 from Revell. The new Vette C6 Coupe 1/25 glue kit is expected by the first of July.

The 1963 Twister Nova AF/X and the Final Edition of the 1935 Chevy Modified are now set for August. The surprise is the beautiful 1970 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible with the Aqua-Drag Boat. We are told that late August is possible and by September is certain. Be sure to get your pre-orders in now. Please review all of the Private Production kits in the new Model King Gallery. Thanks for stopping by!

June 4, 2005: 1991 Ford F-350, Miami Vice Daytona, 1977 Trans Am 'The Bandit', American LaFrance Fire Trucks
A couple of kits came in this week. Of particular interest is a reissue of the great Monogram 1991 Ford F-350 Duallie Pickup. This mainstay of pickup builders is molded in white in 1/24 scale. Also, released this week from Revell is a reissue of the Miami Vice Daytona Spyder, and by popular demand, we are now stocking the Revell diecast kit of the Bandit Trans Am from the Universal Studios movie, 'Smokey and the Bandit'. You may see all of these new kits now with ordering information in the Revell Gallery.

We are also pleased to announce an encore limited production run of the AMT American LaFrance Fire Trucks. These sold out fairly quickly last time, so we are glad to see them back. As before, we are offering a web site special for all three kit together of $129.00 plus shipping. Just order AMT LF-Set on the online order form. To see the LaFrance kits now, please go to Page 8 of the AMT Gallery . Thanks for stopping by!

May 27, 2005: Piranha and 1937 Chevy Modified
Hi folks, we hope everyone in the USA has a great Memorial Day Holiday Weekend! To start the long weekend off right, we just got the very cool Piranha rear engine racers in stock today. What a kit! I always loved building those big rear engine GT type cars. I fear we may run out of these before we wanted to. Most of what we have is already committed to pre-orders, but we still have about 150 unallocated for the early birds with new orders. This is a limited production kit in AMT's Buyer's Choice Program, so we usually are not able to get more. The AMT 1937 Chevy Modified reissue with the Tobias chassis is also available. We will begin shipping Piranha pre-orders on Tuesday after the Holiday. For more pictures and ordering information, please go to the AMT Gallery . Thanks for stopping by!

May 24, 2005: Wild Child Falcon and 1970 Monte Carlo Super Stocker
As expected the 1965 Wild Child A/FX Falcon dragsters arrived today. The surprise arrival was the 1970 Monte Carlo Super Stockers which we did not expect for a couple of weeks. Many of you have pre-orders waiting on these items. We will be shipping these orders this week. New orders are welcome, but we are running a little tight on the Wild Child Falcons. You may assume they are available until we mark them 'sold out' in the relevant areas of the web site. For more pictures and ordering information, please go to the AMT Gallery.

May 13, 2005: Dick Brannan Bronco Altered Wheelbase Mustang
Hi folks, the Bronco Mustangs arrived late today and we will begin processing your pre-orders next week. We still have unallocated product, so new orders for this kit are welcome. Some of you have asked if this is a reissue of the popular 'Street Freak' Altered Wheelbase Mustang Dragster. It is, in fact, the Street Freak with Dick Brannan decals. Thanks for stopping by!

May 7, 2005: Dick Landy Dart, 2005 Viper, 1992 Thunderbird

As expected, the new Dick Landy Dart from Revell sports the 440 Power Plant instead of a Hemi. However, we were surprised with the addition of some new Super Stock parts including Hooker Headers with collectors, deep sump oil pans, updated rear end and shocks and Cragar wheels. All of the stock parts are included with the kit except for two stock tires.

The reissued 1992 Thunderbird has three building options including stock, custom and lowrider. You may see all of these new kits now with ordering information in the Revell Gallery.

You can get more ordering information now in the the Polar Lights Gallery.

From AMT this week we have the 1932 Ford Five Window Coupe from the old MPC tooling as well as a much needed reissue of the 1977 Mustang 2 + 2 Fastback pictured above. Finally, we have the always popular AMT 1951 Chevy 'Turtleback', Fleetline. You can get more information and pictures in the AMT Gallery now. Thanks for dropping by!

April 20, 2005: 1970 GTO Super Stocker,

The 1970 Pontiac GTO Super Stockers (MPC) arrived in our warehouse today. We expect the 1970 Monte Carlo Super Stockers in the next couple of weeks. We will begin shipping pre-orders this week based on your order preference ie. ship as available or hold until all are available. As many of you know, these kits have one of the finest round track racing set-ups ever implemented in plastic. This week we also received the updated 2005 Lowes Monte Carlo in 1/25 scale from AMT, and based on popular demand, we are now accepting pre-orders for the Keeling and Clayton California Charger AA/FD 1/16 scale Dragster. You can find ordering information for the new GTO and Lowe's Monte Carlo in the AMT Gallery, . Pre-ordering information for the California Charger and several more new announcements may be found in the Coming Soon Gallery. Thanks for stopping by!

April 2, 2005: 1969 Barracuda, 1965 Coronet Convertible, Goodwrench Lumina, 1980 Cadillac

This week we have 4 new kits. From Revell, we have the 1980 Cadillac Diecast, and 1990 Goodwrench Lumina. I reviewed the Revell Cadillac with master modeler Bob Downie. The nose of the Caddy is what lowrider fans call 'Euroed'. It has the appearance of an early to mid-80's car. The tail looks like a fairly stock 1980 Coupe deVille. Both the hood and the truck open. The kit does include a multipart detailed engine. We were convinced that with a little ingenuity, one could come up with a passable stock Cadillac. The main hurdle in going stock is in the wheels and the rocker panels. Stock Cadillac wheels can be borrowed from a Johan kit or promo and the rockers can be refinished. The pink and chrome lower rocker panels which you can see in the picture are actually seperate pieces riveted onto the body. They can be dremeled off and refinished...a somewhat advanced project, but doable. You can see these kits including an actual built Cadillac model in the Revell Gallery.

From AMT this week, we have the always popular 1969 Barracuda which appears to be a straight reissue from the MPC tooling. The Cuda has two sets of wheels and the hood scoop is optional. This bad boy is now featured in the AMT Gallery, and if you click on the pic, you can also get an idea of what the stock version looks like.

Finally, from Polar Lights, we have the beautiful 1965 Dodge Coronet Convertible. Visit the Polar Lights Gallery and you can see one already built by our friend Tom Carter. The Coronet Convertibles come in metallic red, turquoise and gold. They also feature both up-tops or boots, a nice touch. The Red and Turquoise version feature an off white up top and boot and the Gold version features a black up-top or boot. Please give us your first and second color choices and we will do our best to accomidate you. That about covers it for this week. Thanks for stopping by!

March 18, 2005: 1965 Mustang A/FX, 1969 Revell Daytona Charger, 1965 Ford Galaxy, 1970 GTO Super Stocker and More!

Hi folks, we have added about 16-20 new model kits to the web site. For those of you who want a sneak peek, please check out the Revell Gallery, the AMT Gallery, the Coming Soon Gallery, and our all new Model King Gallery. For your convenience, we now have a page dedicated to nothing but the very limited and private production Model King reissues of retro vintage AMT and MPC classics. We already have some feedback that many of you are finding this page useful.

Of particular interest, are the new Model King kits coming in May. Two of the famous MPC Superstockers which have not been seen since the early 70's are coming. Both the 1970 GTO Superstocker as well as the 1970 Monte Carlo Superstocker will be in our warehouse in May. While the kits stand on there own as vintage jewels, many modelers will be after the great racing chassis that comes with this kit. We have ordered a bunch, but pre-orders are recommended to avoid disappointment. Also, coming from the Model King in May, we have Dick Brannan's Bronco A/FX (Altered Wheelbase) 1965 Mustang. This will be the first issue of the Dick Brannan Mustang, but uses the tooling from the Street Freak Mustang which many of you remember. Rounding out the Model King May releases is the Wild Child Falcon A/FX. Some of you have seen the press coverage the real Wild Child has been getting lately.
While in the Model King Gallery, be sure not to miss the 1964 Comet, and the 1959 Imperial (hardtop or convertible). We are looking for your pre-orders on these, so we can plan our order quantity as the kits approach their release date. Finally, we are very excited about the 1974 Chevelle, 'Saturday Night Thunder' kit. Last released as a generic limited edition Nascar kit about 10 years ago, we are told this MPC reissue will include both the Laguna and Chevelle front ends from the old MPC tooling. The kit is meant to represent all the great Saturday Night Short Track Races which are an institution across the USA.

We have also added to our Galleries significant new kits from AMT which will be arriving in the next few months. These include kits like the 1969 Barracuda, the 1976 Nova, the 1977 Mustang II and more. Be sure to see all of these in the Coming Soon Gallery,.

Finally, we have added a preview of what Revell is delivering in the next couple of months including Dick Landy's 1968 Dodge Dart GTS. A few surprises are coming from Revell, so be sure to check out the forthcoming Revell kits when you visit the Coming Soon Gallery. Thanks for popping by!

March 3, 2005: 1967 Chevy Custom, Chuck Wagon - 2005 Toy Fair Special

This week we received the 1967 Chevy from the AMT Hot Customs Series. We also, have pre-ordering information on this years Toy Fair Exclusive, the Chuck Wagon Show Car. Check out the new Chevy in the AMT Gallery, and the funky Chuck Wagon in the Coming Soon Gallery.

Feb 19, 2005: Bantam Blast, 1964 GTO Convertible, 1969 Riviera, AMT Boyd Customs

Hi folks, a few new kits arrived this week. The much anticipated Bantam Blast is here! Pre-orders containing this kit will ship next week. While the pre-orders pretty much wiped out our original allotment, we are pleased to announce that we do have ample supply to cover all of your pre-orders. We were able to acquire a few more from a Distrbutor and can accomidate new orders. If we sell out early, we will mark the kit as 'sold out' in the AMT Gallery on the web site. You will be safe with new orders on this kit until that marker appears. in the AMT Gallery..UPDATE ON BANTAM BLAST MARCH 19, 2005: As noted on the web site we sold out of the first production run on these. He had some extras that we were able to get from other Distributors, but these are also sold out. The good news is that we will be getting more in June as AMT has announced an encore production run. Since these will be direct from AMT, the price is back to the old pre-order price of $10.50 each. We suggest you pre-order what you need now.

AMT also released the beautiful stock 1969 Buick Riviera. This is one of my personal favorites as it was in the first 5 kits I ever built back in the late 60's. What a statement and highlight of classic GM styling! Finally, from AMT we have the first batch of some new customs. Borrowing styling cues from Boyd Coddington and Rides Magazine, AMT has spruced up some old favorites with 'gotcha effect' custom wheels. The first batch includes the 1949 Mercury, the 1962 Vette, and the 1957 Chevy. Check out the slick box art on these new kits now in the AMT Gallery.. Speaking of box art, check out the new Riviera box. Do you think that AMT may be getting it that box art matters to many of us? The new boxes are a vast improvement over what we have seen recently from their retiring Box Art Specialist, 'Bozo the Clown'.

From Polar Lights this week we have the ragtop version of the 1964 GTO in 1/25 scale. The color choices are Metallic Red, Yellow and Black. Please specify your first and second choices and we will try to accomidate. Ordering information is available now in the Polar Lights Gallery

To close things out this week, we have more tasty box art for you! If you click on the Coming Soon Gallery, you will find the proposed box art for the forthcoming 1964 Comet Caliente and the 1959 Imperial. While we do not have pricing on the Imperial yet, we think this one may be close to $20.00 as tooling repair was required. Keeping with this theme, the Model King found a real 1959 Imperial in a junkyard near his home. The theme on the box is 'Overhaulin' the '59 Imperial, with the guy at the junkyard ordering the front loader to stop before he drops the '59 Imperial in the crusher. Thank goodness for the Model King and his efforts to save and restore this vintage tooling! Thanks for stopping by.

This one is a surprise! The 1965 Modified with Tobias Chassis is suddenly sneaking into February. For more details please visit the Coming Soon Gallery. We just learned today that both the 'Two Much' Dragster and the Boss Nova Wagan will be shipping to us next week. We expect to start shipping pre-orders containing these kits by February 1. The Georgia Shaker Falcon is expected within the next two weeks, so if your order contains this item, we will most likely hold your pre-order for it to be included. Finally, we expect the Bantam Blasts some time in mid-late February.

From Revell this week, we now have the 1966 Chevelle Custom Station Wagons. We also have the new 1/25 beautifully prepainted 1/25 die cast kits of the Acura RSX Type X and the Subaru Imprezia WRX. These modern day hot rods are replicas of cars featured in 'Super Street' magazine the bible of the Tuner set. Check out front and rear pics now in the Revell Gallery.

Be sure to stay tuned as we will be posting the AMT 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente soon, along with Dick Landy's '68 Dart and a reissue of the much loved Revell 1969 Daytona Charger. Finally, plans are finalizing on a private limited reissue of the AMT 1959 Chrysler Imperial from the original SMP tooling. As some of you may remember, this one can be built as a hardtop or convertible. Thanks for stopping by.
January 14, 2005: New Release Updates: '63 Tempest Altered Wheelbase, 1972 GTO
Hi Folks, many of you remember Arnie Beswick's 1963 Pontiac Altered Wheelbase Tempest called 'The Farmer'. Now, from our friend the Model King in conjunction with AMT, we have the Funnier Farmer which comes from the exact same tooling. Those of you who subscribe to our mailing list will also remember when we posed the question, was it worth it to fix the tooling on this grand Old AMT Dragster? You responded with an overwhelming YES. Well our dreams have come true and the Altered Wheelbase Tempests are in our warehouse and ready to ship. We will be working through our pre-orders over the next week and we do welcome new orders now. You can check out a picture of a Tempest that was beautifully built by modeler Frank Ramos by visiting the AMT Gallery now. While you are there, you may want to note that the MPC/AMT 1972 GTO kit has also arrived in our warehouse and is shipping. Thanks for stopping by!

January 5, 2005: New Release Updates: '63 Boss Nova Wagon, Two Much Dragster, '63 Tempest F/X
Happy New Year! To start the New Year off with a bang, we just got word today that the Altered Wheelbase Tempests, 1963 Boss Nova Wagons, and the 'Two Much' twin-engine dragsters should be in our warehouse by the end of this month. The Georgia Shaker F/X Falcon will be arriving in February. If you have not already pre-ordered these very limited private production kits, you may want to now. We plan to combine pre-orders for these specific kits to conserve your shipping costs, so if you have all of these on pre-order, we will hold the order until the Georgia Shaker arrives unless we hear differently from you. The AMT 1972 GTO is expected in the next week.

We also have information on the April, 2005 Buyer's Choice Program from AMT. As expected, the highly demanded Piranha kit will be reissued along with two more Modified Racers including the 1937 Chevy Coupe, and the 1936 Plymouth. Both of the Modifieds are from the old AMT tooling and have the Tobias chassis. You can check these and other significant kits arriving soon in the Coming Soon Gallery.
