1966 Chevy Fleetside Pick (1/25) (fs)
The first Chevy pickup truck was introduced in 1924. Since then, it has gone through many changes. In 1960 came the new C/K* line with a completely redesigned truck. It had a new frame and suspension system that gave it a more car-like ride. The pickup truck was emerging as something more than just a workman’s vehicle. The C/K line offered a wide choice of engines. This 1966 Fleetside comes with a 283 c.i. V-8 High Torque 175 horsepower engine. The 1966 Chevy pickup was the last of the first generation C/K line. Over the course of this generation, a number of improvements had been made that were developed to make the truck more appealing to the average consumer. In 1963, coil springs were introduced for a smoother ride. This was followed by more comfortable interiors and the addition of air conditioning in 1965.
*C/K was Chevrolet's and GMC's full size pickup line from 1960-2002. 'C' indicated 2-wheel drive and 'K' indicated 4-wheel drive.
