The Fast and Furious film series has become one of Universal Studios most popular franchises. In the lead-off film, Undercover Detective Brian O’Conner is told to investigate a gang of car thieves, lead by Dominic Toretto. He is equipped with a very fast, custom-built Eclipse to demonstrate his driving skills. Winning acceptance by the gang is not easy, but he and his Eclipse were up to the job.
Detective O’Conner’s Eclipse was exclusively built by Eddie Paul for the first Fast and Furious movie, using a 1995 GSX Coupe. It was powered by a DOHC 2.0 liter turbo-charged 4 cylinder engine with direct-port nitrous injection and fuel management system. In the movie, it is hinted that the LAPD paid for the car. It is one of the most famous cars of the Fast and Furious movies.
