By the early 1970s customized “chopper” motorcycles were hugely popular across the United States, but the true home of these one-of-a-kind rolling sculptures was Los Angeles, California. In those days Revell was headquartered in L.A.’s Venice neighborhood, and this now-classic L.A. Street Chopper kit was inspired by the wild profiles and defining features of the custom bikes that cruised the city’s streets. Available for the first time in decades, this big 1/8-scale kit is nearly a foot-and-a-half long once it’s built. Period-perfect details include stretched-out “springer” forks, a rigid frame, “fish tail” exhausts, high-back seat with simulated diamond-tuft upholstery, a chrome sissy bar, and Frisco-style high-mount footpegs.
