Atlantis Toy and Hobby Inc., manufacturer of plastic model kits and toys, signed a multi-year Licensing Agreement with Jim Keeler, a model kit designer who began developing model car kits for Revell in 1961. Jim is joining Atlantis as a consultant and model kit designer effective July, 2021.
Rick DelFavero, VP of Atlantis Models, states, "We are so excited to be working with Jim Keeler who has been such an influence in car modeling over the years! My Uncle had many of the Custom Car Parts sets and they always fascinated me. I was amazed at the many combinations and how you could arrive at your own original creation. I can't wait to see where we can take the series under the Atlantis name. Peter Vetri, President of Atlantis Models states in a recent press release, "We are so proud and honored to be working with Jim on producing a new Line of kits based on the old 1/25 Custom Car Parts. Look for many exciting kits to come from Atlantis!
This first installment will be the Fiat coupe inspired dragster called “Yellow Fever”. Complete with two engines and tons of customizing parts, this one is sure to be crowd pleaser and an exciting start to the series.
We got to spend some quality time with Jim at the 2021 IPMS national event, and he was so excited about his new gig with Atlantis. As many of you know Atlantis manufactures in the USA and along with Salvino, JR Models has breathed some new life and fresh air into our hobby.
