1966 Ford Galaxie (3 'n 1) Stock, Custom, NASCAR (1/25) (fs)
The head of the full-size Ford lineup in the nostalgic days of the space race, Ford Galaxies were still going strong into the mid-seventies. They featured many styling and engine options throughout their production span but the improved engines and suspension of the ’66 model led many to become racing cars. Ford suspensions were dramatically redesigned in 1965 which carried over to the more popular '66. Replacing the former leaf-spring rear suspension was a new three-link system, featuring all coils. Not only did the ride improve, but handling also got a boost, and this system was used for NASCAR in the full-size class. A new instrument panel and two-way key system were also introduced by Ford in this series of Galaxies. The introduction of two keys was for valet parking, in that the rounded head key would only open the trunk or locked glove compartment, while the squared head key would unlock the doors and the ignition.
Loaded with optional parts, now you can build this AMT Galaxie in stock, custom, or racing format.
