Thanks to its low curb weight and high curb appeal, the Chevy 150 was extremely popular with hot rodders. Chevy embraced the racing pedigree of the 150 with the "Black Widow" racing stock car. These non-production cars were built by Southern Engineering and Development Company-a special builder set up by GM. All "Black Widows" were based on the 1957 150 Utility Sedan. Many proved highly successful, with wins at the National Championship and elsewhere. Kit features option to build as factory stock 150 Utility Sedan or Black Widow, choice of stock single carb or fuel injection engine, six lug stock wheels with dog dish hub caps, and soft black tires.
