In 1976 Fred Ertl had recently acquired both AMT and MPC, and he was on a tear to create some of the finest big rig truck kits that the hobby had ever seen. Working from manufacturer's blue prints, he tooled up highly detailed model kits of these popular American work horses. If you are on a computer or tablet and can access the secondary pictures, be sure to read the letter from Fred that is printed on the bottom of the box of this particular kit.
This is the first issue of the popular International Transtar II Eagle. Having been originally issued n 1976, and again in limited quantities in 1996 goes a long way to explaining why it is so hard to find one today. We have lobbied Round2 to reissue this kit again as the demand is so high, but so far have not been able to convince them.
This kit was factory sealed inside when we received. We have inspected and sealed the tires. We also resealed the box on the outside to keep the contents in tact, and to preserve the box. The box shows normal shelf wear.
