1974 was one of seven Championship Years for the King, Richard Petty. When asked about a favorite car, Richard will not hesitate in saying is was the old # 43 Charger that he raced in 1974 screaming down victory lane again and again that year. Starting the 1974 Season off with a big block V-8, Petty's brother Maurice would have to overhaul the trusty Charger to accommodate the new carburetor and maximum displacement regulations adopted by NASCAR earlier that year. The retooled Charger powered by a new 340 cid small block engine would prove to be nearly unstoppable for the balance of the year. Fit for a King!
