After an incredible, decades long run, the iconic VW Beetle was replaced by the VW Golf in 1974. For sales in the US, the Golf was dubbed the VW Rabbit. The vehicles' transverse-mounted 4-cylinder water-cooled engine and front wheel drive gave it unprecedented efficiency by comparison to contemporary American vehicles. Despite this, sales were slow until sharp increases in oil prices drove a commensurate spike in VW sales. Kit features a detailed 4-cylinder engine plus separate wipers and door handles.
