When race car owner Harry Schmidt first brought the Blue Max Funny Car into the world back in 1970, little did he know it would soon become one of the most famous cars in drag racing history. With top drivers like Jake Johnston, Richard Tharpe and Raymond Beadle, the Blue Max, in its many variations, remained a top competitor well into the late 1980's. One of the most popular versions of the car had a monstrous Chrysler Hemi Engine housed in a '72 Ford Mustang body and consistently ran in the 200-210 mph bracket.
