1966 Volkswagon Karmann-Ghia Coupe (fs) 1/24
The distinctive and pleasingly beautiful Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia was first introduced in 1955 as an additional choice to the popular Volkswagen Beetle. The exterior design of this 2 + 2, rear engined, rear drive coupe was designed by the renowned Ghia firm of Italy. It featured a low, aerodynamic flowing body style, in contrast to the tall hump-backed Beetle. The highly skilled German coachbuilder Karmann, succeeded in engineering the Ghia for mass production on the same Beetle platform chassis. Suspension for the sturdy chassis were trailing arms in front while the rear end used swing axles. The anti-roll stabilizer was a standard feature on the Karmann-Ghia for improved road handling and driving comfort.
